Full privacyUses Apple Vision on your Mac. Camera frames are never uploaded, recorded, or used for training.

Mac workflow

Built like a desktop utility, not a web dashboard.

Awaira fits into the familiar rhythm of macOS: menu bar status, native preferences, privacy-first camera permission, and cues that appear only when needed.

Grant camera access

Awaira uses the standard macOS permission flow, then analyses hand movement locally with Apple Vision. Your video stays on your Mac.

Let it sit in the menu bar

Start, pause, check today’s count, or open settings from a compact menu bar popover whenever you need control.

Catch the automatic moment

When your hand reaches your face, Awaira shows a calm reset cue so you can lower your hand and continue what you were doing.

Preferences

Feels like it belongs in System Settings.

Everything is adjustable with plain Mac-style controls, so the app can be quiet, visible, or somewhere in between.

Early testers

A gentler way to catch yourself.

“For the first time I could actually feel the moment my hand went up. The little nudge was enough to put it back down.”
— Maya R., trichotillomania
“It’s not naggy. It’s quiet and kind, and somehow that made me listen. My nail-biting is way down this month.”
— Daniel K., nail biting
“Knowing the camera never leaves my laptop is the only reason I tried it. Seeing the numbers drop kept me going.”
— Priya S., skin picking

FAQ

Good questions, clear answers.

How does Awaira detect without invading my privacy?

Camera frames are analysed live on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. They’re never recorded, uploaded, or sent to a server — they exist only momentarily in memory and are then discarded.

Will it work on my Mac or Windows device?

Awaira is a native Mac app (macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon and Intel). A Windows version isn’t available yet.

Can I turn off the blur or sound?

Yes. You decide the reaction and its intensity — sound and volume, a red border, a screen blur, or a breathing prompt. Use any combination, or switch them off entirely.

What does it cost?

The Free edition includes a 15-day trial. After that, you can upgrade with monthly, yearly, or lifetime options.

Is Awaira a medical device?

No. Awaira is a wellness and awareness tool, not a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition. If you’re struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional.
